How are homoeopathic medicines prepared?

Homoeopathic medicines are diluted either according to the decimal scale (described as either X or D) or according to the centesimal scale (described as C).
For the decimal scale one part of the mother tincture is diluted in nine parts of alcohol and water. This gives a 1x potency. One part  of 1x is taken and added to a new nine parts alcohol/water mix with a resulting 2x. This process continues until the product is made up to the desired potency that is required.
For the centesimal scale one part of mother tincture is diluted in ninety nine parts of alcohol and water. This give a 1c potency. One part  of 1cx is taken and added to a new ninety nine parts alcohol/water mix with a resulting 2c. This process continues until the product is made up to the desired potency that is required.
After each dilution the shaking process - the succussion - adds 'energy' to the substance.

What source materials are used for the preparation of homoeopathic medicines?

Vegetable matter - All parts of plants (root, stem, bark, leaf, fruit or sap).
Animal matter - e.g. of porcine or bovine source as well as e.g. snake venom.
Mineral matter - e.g calcium from rock or crude oil.

What is maceration?

Maceration is the process used by which the original material is converted to a tincture which is referred to as the Mother Tincture. At the end of the maceration process products are usually filtered to remove any remaining particulate matter.

What are Xenobiotics?

Xenobiotics are used for the detoxification or the elimination of toxins and toxicants. 'Xeno' meaning 'foreign' and 'bio' meaning 'life'.
Those remedies stimulate the vital force within the body to detoxify and cleanse itself.
The Xenobiotic remedies are safe to use. They are effective and produce rapid results. Care is required in prescribing, particularly in cases of severe and chronic illness. In such cases layered detox is recommended. Organ support, in conjunction with or prior to detox will help with aggravation and avoid a healing crises. Organ support is critically important in cases of severe and multiple toxic conditions and should be supported with the New Vistas Liquescences, which are designed to compliment the Xenobiotics.

What are Liquescences?

The Liquescences are potentised remedies designed specifically to treat organs that have been stressed as a result of toxicity and that have been weakened due to poor nutrition. In this condition organs are unable to absorb or utilise the nutrient from foods, from vitamins, minerals or herbs in their original or gross form. Administering specialised supplements to such organs is wasteful.
The Liquescences will help rebuild and strengthen the organ, enabling it to function as nature intended. This is an ideal therapy for the treatment of stressed organs prior to and during the detoxification process. Liquescences come in liquid form to maximise effectiveness as the greater surface area will help trigger the digestive system for greater absorption. These remedies are safe for people of all ages including children. they are particularly suitable for the elderly and those in ill health.
In addition to their function to restore health to stressed organs, the Liquescences are ideal tonics for use on an ongoing basis so as to maintain optimum health and vitality. They can be used in combination with each other or with other homoeopathics or conventional medication.

This range focuses on the practical utilisation of homoeopathy in the form of nutritional deficiencies and imbalances. Schuessler developed the concept of the Cell Salts in potentised form, as a means of treating and preventing disease.

What are the rules when taking Homoeopathic Remedies?

In general the following rules apply for the administration of liquid homoeopathic medicines:

 - Place drops under the tongue and hold for approx. 20 seconds before swallowing.
 - Take nothing by mouth 20 minutes prior to or following dosage. This includes food, drink, cigarettes, toothpaste etc.
 - Digestive organ remedies, i.e. pancreas, liver, gall bladder and stomach should be taken 20 minutes before meals.
 - Limit intake of caffeine or nicotine in any form, such as tea, coffee, chocolate and cigarettes. If necessary use one hour after taking a homoeopathic.
 - Limit mint in any form, such as sweets, toothpaste and mouthwash.
 - Use no camphor, as in muscle and joint rubs. Avoid mothball fumes. Limit breathing of strong smells such as paint thinner, eucalyptus and cigarette smoke.
 - If dental drilling or trauma to the mouth occurs, use topically for 48 hours.
 - Alcohol sensitivities: If a person is sensitive to alcohol, put the drops into a glass (90ml) of warm water. Allow one minute for the alcohol to evaporate.
 - Homoeopathics may generally be taken at the same time with other suggested homoeopathics.
 - Keep homoeopathics out of direct sunlight and x-rays.

Are there any exceptions to these rules?

The New Vistas Liquescence Range may be taken with/ after meals either alone or with juice. Liquescences should however be taken 20 minutes apart from other homoeopathics, but can be taken at the same time with other recommended Liquescences, except for Fatty Acid and Thyroid Liquescence which should be taken separately.
We recommend to refrigerate Liquescences once opened.

How many homoeopathic remedies can be taken at any one time?

This differs from person to person depending on your level of toxicity or nutritional need. Your practitioner will specify your needs and this may also include tinctures or supplements.

Are there any rules regarding how many Xenobiotics can be taken together?

Generally not, but BAC, VIR and FNG should not be ALL taken over the same time. You may take any two of these three at the same time.

What if symptoms persist?

Homoeopathic remedies are designed to work as complementary and supportive to standard medical therapies. They are not meant as a replacement. If symptoms persist or if pregnant or lactating, consult a medical doctor.
If conditions persist and the patient is not responding properly to the homoeopathic program, we encourage the Practitioner to make other referrals so that the condition will not deteriorate.

What if symptoms grow in intensity and what are provings?

Provings are a symptom caused by a homoeopathic, usually mild in appearance. If the homoeopathic is terminated and symptoms abate in 24 hours, it could be a proving. If symptoms continue after 24 hours, then it is unlikely they were caused by a homoeopathic. When symptoms grow in intensity of for prolonged length of time it is an indication of a more serious problem - please consult your doctor.

Does the colour of the mercury filling give any indication of the body’s need for a detox?

Yes, some reports indicate a detox is required in cases where the filling has turned black/dark in colour. Amalex is the remedy, but it should also be used periodically as a detox for the amalgam.

Why are Addex and/or Opsin I recommended for hyperactivity in children?

Because there is a link between food additives and hyperactivity in children, the above two products help detox these additives from the body thus reducing incidence of hyperactivity.

Why did my practitioner recommend Opsin II for hay fever?

Opsin II helps detox inhalant allergies from the body including pollen which causes hay fever.

My doctor diagnosed ‘sub therapeutic’ hypothyroidism (under active thyroid) and so, I saw my Kinesiologist. He recommended Thyroid Liquescence. I have been taking this for 3 weeks now and feel much better.

Firstly, you will not develop an overactive thyroid by taking Thyroid Liquescence but it is advised to keep appointments with the Kinesiologist as he will monitor the dosage required which is likely to decrease as you improve. Secondly, this is not recommended for over active thyroidism. In that case practitioners recommend HET.

My daughter suffers from CF (Cystic Fibrosis) and our homoeopath has prescribed Mucous Liquescence. Is this generally beneficial for her respiratory tract or digestive tract? Is this specific to CF sufferers?

Both, Mucous Liquescence helps effectively dissolve excess mucous anywhere in the body therefore including both the respiratory and digestive tracts. It is not specific to CF sufferers, it is prescribed for any mucous related conditions.

I don’t wish to take HRT, I was prescribed Female Liquescence. Could this be an error as I thought this product was for PMT?

No, there is no error as Female Liquescence is recommended for an ‘A-Z’ range of female hormonal related imbalances including dysmennorhoea (painful periods), infertility, endometriosis, irregular periods, PMT, acne and menopausal symptoms. There are also other remedies in the range as alternatives to HRT. You may need to speak to your practitioner to establish what suits you best.
